Abstract: 

In “The Great Code: The Bible and Literature”, Northrop Frye, the Canadian literary critic, studies the language, mythology, metaphor and typology of the Bible in two parts enjoying symmetric structures, as two mirrors facing one another. This study is in fact a literary criticism following a mythological approach. Frye believes that the Bible calls for a kind of “symbolic interpretation”, because although as a Holy book and as far as its function and goal is concerned, it cannot be taken as a work of literature, the book possesses all the distinguishing features of a literary work and for the very reason has had a decisive influence on the literary works and trends. This article, besides giving a general review of Frye’s book, tries to examine the seven stages of Revelation-from Genesis to Apocalypse-on the basis of an analytic and critical reading.

Abstract: 

The works on Text-book creation were re-organized in the years of independence in Azerbaijan. “The Text-book policy” of the government was sensed. The school children of the 1-11 forms were provided with Textbooks free of charge in the years of 2003-2005.250 original Text-books were prepared in the years of 2000- 2007. It has been started to develop English, French and German Text-books since 2002. At present the works on creation of English and French Text-books for the 1-11 forms have been completed. The Text-books for schools are being improved and renewed.

Abstract: 

This study set out to evaluate a rather newly developed Textbook entitled "Prospect I". The Textbook is developed as the main Text for the nationwide application at the first grade of high school English courses by the Iranian ministry of education. To this end, a researcher-made questionnaire was developed and pilot tested. Bartlett's test of Sphericity, Keiser-Meyer-Olkin sampling adequacy measure, exploratory factor analysis and factor loadings, and Cronbach's Alpha measure of internal consistency were all run on the pilot study data, and the results verified acceptable levels of validity and reliability for the questionnaire. The validated questionnaire was given to 188 high school English teachers chosen based on convenience sampling procedure from seven provinces of the country. Moreover, 146 teachers sat for a semi-structured interview. The questionnaire and interview data analyses results revealed that the participating teachers were not satisfied with several aspects of the Text including layout and design, the exercises and activities, the integration of the four skills, teachers book, grammar, vocabulary, language functions, and the proposed teaching methodology of the Text.

Abstract: 

This research is purposed to direct students toward reading non-Textbooks more than academic Textbooks-to develop their knowledge and qualifications. This direction can be facilitated by university purposeful planning. Statistical population of this research consists of male and female students of human sciences in Azad University of district 8 and 540 of them were selected by multi-level accidental method. A researcher- made questionnaire distributed, which is taken from was motivating factors in university such as holding book-studying festivals, utilizing various teaching methods by professors, the ways of presenting library services and interests of the students to their fields of study. After collecting data and statistical analysis, the findings of this study showed that the following factors can have the efficient role on attitudes of university students to help them read non-Textbooks: The role of the instructor’s teaching method, holding book reading competitions, Holding book fair, Reviewing the way of giving library services.

Abstract: 

The aim of this article is to examine the relation between the conText of Pazirik carpet and creation of the Bondhesh book. To fulfill this work we rely on kind of transTextuality by Gerard Genette, that is hyperTextuality. The goal of this research is to find interTextualite connection between Pazirik carpet and conText of creation of the Bondhesh book. We are trying to examine and manifest the common way of thinking of carpet designer and mythical beliefs of ancient Persians based on the creation in the Bondhesh book. The result indicates that the designer (or designers) religious and customary beliefs had an effect on them in creating that work. They endeavored to portray the battle between the good and the bad, the creators of this everlasting magical work applied all their zeal and talent to organize all visual messages in the same way to portray world based on their own beliefs.

Abstract: 

In this paper this question id going to be discussed: how and in what quality the laboratory experiments in high school physic Text book should be performed? Some data has been collected by direct visiting of some schools, considering the situation of laboratories, and interviewing with the heads of laboratories and scientific quizzes for students. The present situation is compared with the ideal one to judge and analyze the data about the procedures of performing the experiments. It was found that there is a prominent distance between the present situation and the ideal one in the following are us: 1-The situation of laboratories.2- The potentiality of human ability.3- The procedure of student's performing of the experiments.4- Student's tendency, participation, contribution, and learning.The problem of physic laboratories remains in lack of facilities. Although the human force has got the suitable quality, but student participation in performing the experiments is poor and learning is not in its convincing possibility. Therefore, it is suggested to provide practical policies and strategies for performing the experiments of physics Text books and, besides, principals should have special favors and regarding to this principle base for coming scientific progresses and developments of technology based upon innovation.

Abstract: 

One of the most important steps in planning and preparation of curriculum plans is selection and organization of the content. The important part of the content is different subjects’ matters which shall be collected in numerous subjects and in books and present to the students. Since in Iranian Education system, Text book prepared in credit basis for entire country thus shall be considered as an important fact. In the present research, we focus on the contents of Chemistry Text book 1 from the viewpoints of Tehran Chemistry Teachers. The main object is to attain the application rate of course planning principles in selection and organization of the books contents.Statistical society includes chemistry teachers in grade nine of high school in Tehran province who were teaching chemistry in the school year 2003-2004. Sample capacity is 171 statistical credits (teachers) and sampling method is classified clustering.The research regarding its applied goal and from view point of descriptive method is performed on field research basis. For collection of data, a questionnaire including 36 questions were used for distribution between statistical units. Also library studies were used in this research. The present research studied the book contents with present five researching questions. For analysis of data, descriptive statistical techniques were used and descriptive statistics also dedicated to chi- square test. The results are as follows: The content of Chemistry book 1 is suitably prepared with expected goals, mental abilities and learners interest of the grade nine students. The book content in high rate has been present while consider the needs of the society and have considerable application in daily life and experience. The rate of application teaching - learning suitable strategies and general principles of organization in the content of book is in mean rate.
